As a minister of the gospel for over 20 years, I have learned how to read and interpret the law of God. Doing this enables me to make sound decisions and give good counsel.
I also worked as a manager at Dominick's grocery store for 15 years, so I have solid skills in working with the public directly and I am able to solve conflicts with positive results.
Because I am a firm believer in the God of the Holy Bible, my platforms will be built on solid moral convictions. I believe that life begins at conception, so to take a life before it has a chance to begin, would be against God's code of ethics.
I don't know my opponent's personal life, but considering the policies that he votes "yes" for, I would say that my personal beliefs and convictions draw a clear line in the sand between us.
As far as my commitment to public service goes, a story that I can share deals with me coaching little league baseball at the park district for about 4 years. Many of the boys that I coached came from fatherless homes and were not used to doing things in a disciplined format. In one season, thru patience, they went from striking out to making base hits; from not knowing how to catch, to playing in-field positions.
As a little league coach, you have to be committed in order to patiently endure undisciplined children and parents who may not know the game.
Being committed means showing up whether you make it to the championship or not. It means seeing the job through to the end or until you reach the results you've been working for.
